Claudius “Supa” England proudly boasts of his being a product of Jamaica’s second city, Montego Bay.
He is a man of God, an artiste, a prolific song writer and music composer who has shared the stage with artistes the likes of 2003 American Star Search finalist Ugochi out of Chicago, Dwayne Stephenson, renown Jamaican gospel artistes, Prodigal Son, Jason Mighty, Stitchie, Kevin Downswell, Shepherd, Ryan Berry, Teena Tamara, Murphy, D. J. Nicholas, New Generation, Omari, J’lee and more.
His unique style of positive and uplifting music is communicated through a clever fusion of reggae, dancehall and at times, a R&B or hip hop flavour. Songs like his “Speak Life”, “Abstain”, “Jesus, Jesus” and “Youth Man” are just a few of his recordings presently in rotation and receiving rave reviews locally and internationally. His popular and highly anticipated music video “So What” debut in 2010 and has enjoyed great visibility on most local stations and has been nominated for awards.
Signed to the Radikal Yawd label, Claudius has also worked with other reputed production companies such as RedTones Productions, Dangazone Records, Jamplified Production and Destiney Records.
His ever growing list of performances includes the Pre Genesis concert in Montego Bay, the popular Weekenz in Kingston, Radikals reaching Radicals, the 09 PALS team – promoting peace in schools, Kumba Mi Yabba Kingston and Montego Bay, Freedom Fest Kingston and Clarendon and the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival 2010. Special to his heart however, was the occasion to minister to the women of the Fort Agustus prison alongside Prodigal Son, Kevin Downswell, Omari, Teena Tamara and Shepherd and his performance for the girls of the Granville Place of Safety as part of the 2010 Child’s month activities.
His is a passionately patriotic Jamaican and it is no wonder that as violence upsurges in his hometown in the west, the timing of his music could not be more appropriate and relevant. With a heart for youth, Claudius’ ministry is to carry the message of hope as he shares the challenges and triumphs he himself has faced while seeking to truly serve the Lord. Void of religious monotony, his work is a refreshing celebration of life and humanity in a language all can understand.
